Unfortunately, this grinder puts form over function...

The Bodum Bistro Grinder is appealing for a number of reasons:

- It is a burr grinder, these usually produce a more consistent grind

- The product is visually appealing

- The price is quite affordable

Bodum is targetting people who either don't have a grinder or are looking to upgrade their blade grinder to a burr grinder.

I will keep this review short and to the point. The device has a major flaw. It creates a significant amount of static electricity, which, combined with its glass coffee grind container sends grounds all over your kitchen counter. The thing really makes a big mess.

This is a bit unexpected. Their product description explains how they intended the design to prevent a mess with the seal at the top of the grind container. It just doesn't work in practice.

On a positive note, the grind quality is sufficient, but not as consistent as a more expensive grinder like a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. However, the better grinders are easily twice the price.

Bodum has a great brand, they are known for their excellent french presses, tea infusers, and other "hot beverage" products. Unfortunately this product does not live up to their reputation.
